Hi all, I am writing to you with the hope you will contribute your expertise in imaging techniques; processes; application methodology, etc, in the format of a paper and presentation to next year's Processing Images, Image Quality, Capturing Images, Systems Conference (PICS) in Rochester, NY. PICS is a division of The Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T). (http://www.imaging.org). The IS&T has opened a track named Museums and Archives, and I hope that we will be able to continue this open dialogue by submitting papers on the ways we use imaging technologies to photograph our collections.
This is a great opportunity to have an open discussion about what works and what doesn't work with digital / analogue imaging programs and to discuss these findings with your peers, the engineers and manufacturers of digital software and hardware. If you would like to submit your techniques, opinions, ideas, or etc. in the form of a paper or presentation, please see: http://www.imaging.org/conferences/pics2003/authors.cfm Deadline for abstract submission is November 1st 2002. Aside from interesting discussions on imaging, there are excellent tutorials, papers on cutting edge technologies, and, Rochester is full of wonderful museums and good restaurants. Excerpt from the conference pamphlet: IS&T's PICS 2003 will include invited presentations by researchers of world renown, an extensive array of oral and poster presentations, and a fascinating set of tutorials. Some of the proposed program topics are Image Quality; Image processing; Image capture; Vision; Systems; and Multispectral Color Science. Please respond to this email with your name and address if you wish to receive a conference pamphlet.
