Dear MCN colleagues, It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of pre-registration for VRA 21, the annual conference of the Visual Resources Association in Houston from April 7 - 13, 2003. An up-to-date Preliminary Program (a full color printable PDF) with pre-registration forms is now available at: http://www.vraweb.org/2003conference/main.html (online registration will be available very soon)
Our conference team, headed up by VRA Vice Presidents Mark Pompelia and Jeanne Keefe, has really outdone themselves. Those of you who are participating in the conference have already shared your excitement about this year. In fact, in the spirit of collaboration, MCN is presenting a seminar as part of the VRA program, called " What does it take to Create Digital Image Collection." The lure of this dynamic (and warm and friendly!) city in the spring, combined with a terrific program, add up to a very special year for VRA. Covering today's hot topics in digital imaging, information management, and teaching with technology, VRA-21 will host hundreds of professionals from major academic institutions and other cultural organizations to experience outstanding art, gourmet food, and the delightful ambience of the "Bayou City." We'll be at the Warwick Hotel in the heart of the world-class Houston Museum District, offering state-of-the-art facilities, including Internet connections. It is a short and pleasant walk to the many restaurants, shops, and attractions in the immediate area. Please do join us in Houston this April. It is an excellent opportunity for professional development and networking. And, I can promise you that the social events will be served up with big Texas hospitality!
