Issues in Cataloging Revisited

The workshop will introduce the VRA guide: Cataloging Cultural
Objects: A Guide to Describing Cultural Objects and Their
Images. Using two VRA Core database applications (Snapdragon
and IRIS), the workshop will show how to develop authority files, how
to use controlled vocabularies to build work and image records, and
how to use the guide to select, describe and format data. The workshop
will take a hands-on approach to cataloging and will survey
participants prior to the workshop in order to selectively cover issue
of importance to participants.
