For those interested in the continuing debates about the future of
the music industry in light of IP issues, the July 7 issue of the New
Yorker has an interesting article by John Seabrook entitled, "The
Money Note: Can the record business survive?"
The article discusses broad issues of the industry, including the
making of pop stars and monster hits, the industry's history of
technophobia, and the usual angst about sharing music over the
Internet.
