Amalyah, both copyright and rights of publicity figure into use of an artist's signature. Permission from the artist or her estate would, of course, cover both. The tricky part is that publicity rights vary a lot more than copyright does. I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to what rights, if any, an artist would have in her signature in Israel. One good thing about the right of publicity is that in many jurisdictions, unlike copyright, it ends when you die (Tennessee being one of the more notable exceptions).
