Hi All,

I am researching Section 508 accessibility guidelines in the context of
planning for a possible site redesign and am trying to figure out if
U.S. federal granting agencies such as the IMLS and NEA are planning to
start requiring grant recipients to make their Web content accessible
sometime in the near future.

We are a private institution but we receive federal grant monies to
support some of our Web-based programs. I'm wondering if redesigning our
site may soon be necessary in order for us to continue applying for and
receiving for such grants. I am hoping that it does in fact become a
requirement, as it will force us to redesign our site to be compliant
for visitors with disabilities, something we desperately need to do.

I can't find any specific information about this on the Section 508 Web
site, http://www.section508.gov/index.cfm. Does anyone have any
information you can share?

And many many thanks to all of you who replied to my last post about
designing museum sites with Web standards!

Thanks,
Dana
