If you are just looking for class/event
registration software you should have a look at www.aceware.com. We used their product –
Student Manager – for a number of years. We have since migrated to EBMS
from Ungerboeck Systems (www.ungerboeck.com)
with which we are handling our event management, master calendar, space
reservation, registrations, ticketing, member participation, etc.

We're using filemaker and
an in-house developed database. We've been looking at larger software packages
that will allow us to easily tie in registrations with membership information,
admissions, bookkeeping and development. What the tech committee found cost
over $500,000.

All,
I would like to know what kind of
software, if any, is used by other small to medium sized museums for
registering individuals in programmes. For the most part these are March Break
and Summer art classes for children which run for a week at a time. There are
also occasional special programmes and a genealogy class. Our education
coordinator would like an on-line system which would store information on the
registrants and the classes. It would also have the ability to produce forms
for parents to sign, class lists for the instructors, etc.
It could possibly be done, in part
at least, with generic database software, but I would like to know if there is
proprietary software out there which is appropriate for a small museum.
