The splendid paper by Steve Dietz, Howard Besser, Ann Borda and Kati
Gerber (with Pierre Lévy ) titled "Virtual Museum (of Canada): The
Next Generation" is now online and available. It can be found at
http://www.chin.gc.ca/English/Members/Rethinking_Group/index.html
there is also a french version of the paper.
This is the paper that Kati discussed during her talk at the spring
CNI meeting, and was also extensively discussed in Calgary on
February 27 at a conference sponsored by the Canadian Heritage
Information Network (CHIN) (see
http://www.chin.gc.ca/English/Digital_Content/Dccf_Workshop/index.html
for the archived agenda, presentations and webcast of that
conference). We will also link it to the page on the CNI web site
describing the session Kati Gerber and Joyce Ray of IMLS offered at
the spring 2004 CNI meeting.
Well worth reading for anyone interested in the future of museums, or
in convegence of cultural memory organizations.
