Hi everybody, I'm sending this message to the list wearing my MCN Board Nominating Committee Chair hat (what a mouthful). We'll have some Board Members standing for re-election in Boston, and some rotating off, and we'd like to find some new talent to give the re-election board members a run for it and/or fill the vacant slots. We're hoping that some non-Board Members among the membership would want to help us draw up a slate of candidates - call it democracy in action! As it stands, the Nominating Committee consists of myself and Murtha Baca, with Sam Quigley serving ex-officio. All that would be expected of you is to help us brainstorm in a couple of e-mail exchanges about who would make a good MCN board member and comment on candidates others have thought of - as you can see, it's not a big commitment, but you'd make a big difference for MCN in coming up with some fresh ideas. Please let me know whether you'd be interested in helping out with this exercise! Since we need to wrap up this work by July 1st, I appreciate hearing from you sooner rather than later.
