A few weeks ago we
received our first shipment of regular production gold DVD-R's from MAM-A.
We have been testing their pre-production runs for several months.
They appear to be
quite good at this point and I recommend people start using them. You
might want to buy a few and test your writers before investing in a large
batch. One of our TDK writers kept giving us errors until we upgraded the
firmware to 1.0C. Now it works as well as our Lite-On internal
units. First indications are an error rate (meaning loss of disc) of about
4%; which is what we used to see on CDR's in the early days. I'm sure that
will get better as they get more production out.
We are expecting
an order of 250 discs to arrive early next week. We buy our MAM-A products
from www.dsgi.com up in Redmond,
WA. They provide the silkscreening for us and are great to deal
with. You can also buy directly from www.mam-a.com
