Hi Toni,

over here in Europe, several institutions still do use vocabulary
based on the UDC (Universal Decimal Code). Especially in the
(art-)photography related field. Amongst others, the Provinciaal
Museum voor Fotografie in Belgium.
I myself use an English vocabulary loosly based on the
thesaurus words generated by the ArtBibliographies Modern.
The whole list is not yet retrievable - but check our library
website at:

http://library.nfi.nl

Was once interested in translating, using and promoting the
AAT. But for my business this is too complicated. Still I do
check the AAT for new terms to use.

On the other whe do maintain a huge name authority database
to control artists name - for the format check the above
mentioned URL.

Hope this helps,

and good luck with your findings,

Hans Zonnevijle
