For the opening of the de Young museum we developed and implemented, in
partnership with Mediatrope LLC, a proprietary Flash-based electronic signage
system, having decided that Scala and Omnivex didn't quite do what we wanted
them to do. The sign programs are configurable through a browser-based CMS
(Sitebots) and interfaces with the de Young Web site events and programs
calendar. It all works very well at this point, and there are a few more
features we anticipate adding in the near future. I can address specific
questions if need be.

Subject: Digital Signage

Does anyone have any experience with any digital signage software. We are
thinking about implementing digital signage here w/plasma TVs. Flexibility
in the software is key so we can display different information on each TV
including general museum information, upcoming exhibitions, video of current
and upcoming exhibitions, etc. We would like to have the hardware and
software in-house.

Thanks much,
Becky
