Hi all
We use Mimsy XG at the Australian War Memorial, which has condition and
conservation modules. I'd be happy to share how we record our treatments if
that would help.
Regards

Hi Nick, Lauren, all
Two things. Firstly, this is something we're also really interested in and
would be keen to hear what you discover, as well as any more info on the TMS
conservation module. Secondly, are you really using a Blackberry Nick?!
Best.

Dear Lauren,
I recently had sight of a really exciting product under development by Gallery
Systems as part of TMS which integrates Conservation processes alongside
Collections management so it might be worth making contact with them.
More generally, at the Collections Trust we are hoping to see more of this kind
of integration - conservation is one of the most intensive knowledge-generating
activities in a museum, but very often this in-depth knowledge of the object
can be held separately, not recorded or not made available to the public.
I'm really interested to hear how you get on with this, so do let us know how
it goes via the list.
With best regards,
Nick Poole

Hello,
We are looking at a proposal for the conservation module in our database. The
proposal currently separates the following into four fields: Proposed
Treatment, Proposed Materials, Treatment, and Treatment Materials. I'm
wondering what other institutions follow the practice of separating treatment
from treatment materials, and how they find it useful. Any feedback would be
appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks Tier! Not sure how much published info there is on the ?TMS module, will
check and share.
Plus yes - BlackBerry is back on the up over here! Interesting how many app
developers still think iOS plus an Android port = job done!
Best,
Nick

Subject: [MCN-L] New issue of Multimedia & Technology Reviews! (April
2015)
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
The Art Libraries Society of North America presents the seventh issue of its
newest publication, the Multimedia & Technology Reviews, an e-publication made
freely available on the ARLIS/NA website.
The April 2015 issue includes the following:
Bomb Weekly App by Hannah Marshall
Curarium by William Blueher
Design Other 90 Network by Yvette Cortes
Khan Academy Partner Content - Museums by Elizabeth Lovero
Urbanology by Kathy Edwards
RISS Review: Visual Thesaurus by Amy Ballmer
World Digital Library - Arts Section by Jacqueline Protka
The Multimedia & Technology Reviews (M&T Reviews) targets projects, products,
events, and issues within the broad realm of multimedia and technology as they
pertain to arts scholarship, research, and librarianship. While assessing
current products and projects, these reviews are also designed to engage
readers in a conversation about how technologies and multimedia are being or
can be deployed within our profession and by our constituents. The issues are
published bi-monthly, alternating with the publication schedule of the ARLIS/NA
Reviews.
M&T Reviews is managed by co-editors Hannah Bennett, Elizabeth Schaub, and
Emilee Mathews, who also serves as the appointed liaison to the ARLIS/NA
Reference and Information Services Section (RISS) to ensure that an area of the
M&T Reviews directly reflects the sorts of tools and resources of interest to
the RISS membership. Reviews are written by volunteer reviewers, and elected by
the M&T Reviews co-editors. One does not need to be a member of ARLIS/NA or a
professional librarian in order to get involved with this publication. Those
interested in volunteering to review are encouraged to read over the
publication's policies and guidelines.
Questions about the reviews, getting involved, or the general management of the
publication may be directed to Hannah Bennett.
