Position Summary
The Digital Media Assistant will provide crucial day-to-day support for a
variety of Digital Media publishing projects including: the Frick's online
collections management system (eMuseum), collections management system (TMS),
content management system (Drupal), mobile app, institutional calendar
(Trumba), satellite sites (WordPress), e-mail marketing (MailChimp), e-commerce
platforms (Blackbaud Spark and Yahoo), Digital Asset Management System (Xinet),
or other projects as assigned. The Digital Media Assistant will help full time
staff members in Digital Media accomplish goals and meet project deadlines, and
will be asked to perform quality assurance tasks on occasion. Assistant will
help members of the department with scheduling, tracking due dates, and other
project management tasks. This is not an entry-level position, and the ideal
candidate will have experience with TMS and/or Drupal publishing systems, image
and content management within a museum.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and demonstrated interest in art museums; graduate work in
museum design, museum studies, library science or a related area is preferred.
Minimum of three years part-time experience in Digital Media (or related
department) in a museum. Knowledge of HTML and Web standards. Experience with
content management; Drupal preferred. Knowledge of database principles;
working knowledge of TMS preferred. Solid working knowledge of Adobe products
(Photoshop, Illustrator) and image management software (Bridge or Aperture).
Expertise in Macintosh platform; working knowledge of PC platform. Awareness
of editorial standards, and attention to detail. Demonstrable organizational,
analytical, and problem solving skills. Solid writing and communication
skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and interact with a
wide range of staff with a focus on service.
