Hello all,

We are a mid-size museum and are in the process of analyzing our scanners
options for digitization of our collection. All our reproduction photography is
currently done using digital cameras and copy stands. This has been effective
for us until now because our collection is very varied in size (it is an
architectural collection so we have many drawings, photographs and documents)
and our volume of digitization is relatively small, but we are now planning to
increase the volume of digitization and are consequently, considering how to
integrate scanning into our process. In a general sense, we are considering a
no contact (planetary) scanners for documents and flat materials. The final
choice will obviously depend on the type of material (or more specifically size
and whether or not it is bound) that we will want to scan.

I am interested to hear from other mid-size museums that have integrated
scanning into the their digitization plan. What scanner(s) did you chose and
why?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Best regards, Elspeth
