AAM's Media and Technology Professional Network will host the webinar "The Nuts and Bolts of Managing Digitized Collections From Capture to Copyright" on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, 2-3:30pm ET. Full details at http://www.aam-us.org/resources/online-programs/the-nuts-and-bolts-of-managing-digitized-collections-from-capture-to-copyright. "Your museum wants to digitize and publish its collection and now you have to deal with the consequences. This webinar will provide an overview of the digitization and rights management workflow for a collection object, starting from acquisition through the use cases of online collections and open access (additional use cases may be addressed during the Q&A as time permits). Presenters will discuss the everyday management of digital reproductions – from initial capture to storage and what technology may be used – as well as best practices for recording rights information about the collection and how rights data may be integrated into an online publishing workflow. While both presenters hail from large art museums, their expertise pertains to museums generally and the webinar will attempt to address both “basic” and “ideal” workflow scenarios." To participate, AAM members may register at the link in the URL above.
We are also encouraging museums to host "Webinar Watch & Talk" events to create a no-cost learning and networking opportunity. Most events consist of: - 30 minutes of pre-webcast networking - 90-minute live webcast - 60 minutes of post-webcast facilitated discussion or activity. - If you are interested in hosting an event, please contact Greg Stevens. The deadline to provide host information is March 11. Amelia Wong, Ph.D.Web Content StrategistThe J. Paul Getty [email protected]
