Computer Client Services Technician: The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) is a museum, research center, and publisher dedicated to the study and preservation of the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South region. THNOC is a collection of over 35,000 library items, more than two miles of documents and manuscripts, and over 350,000 photographs, prints, drawings, paintings, and other artifacts. The Collection is currently accepting resumes for the position of computer client services technician.
The computer client services technician supports all aspects of the desktop computing and printing requirements of The Collection. The technician builds, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains PCs, provides software, hardware and telephone support to users, and troubleshoots and maintains printers. In addition, the technician is responsible for providing THNOC audio/visual support. This position serves as backup to other technology staff as needed and assists in developing and maintaining policies and procedures for appropriate use of network resources and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree in computer science and a minimum of 2 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience. The technician must also have knowledge of and experience with Windows 7, Windows 10, MAC OSX, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, TCP/IP networks, Windows and Linux servers and printer servers. Additionally, the successful candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and writing), collaborative, customer service, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
