**President’s July 2018 message**
Dear valued members of ARCS,

On behalf of ARCS, thank you for being part of this wonderful community.
Through your support, we have had our best year yet.

ARCS is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Tecker
International (https://www.tecker.com/), a leading international
association consultant, to develop a research-based strategic plan to
better serve you. We need your input on what you would like to see from
ARCS in the future - and you will soon receive a survey from us asking for
your feedback. In the meantime, please feel free to send me an email with
your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions at i...@arcsinfo.org.

Have you considered becoming a mentor? We continue to collaborate with
AAM-Collections Stewardship on our mentorship program, providing a unique
opportunity for professional growth. The next application round will be in
November. You can find out more on our website (
http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/registrars-and-collections-specialists-mentoring-program).
We hope you will consider supporting our field!

We hope you have found deep value in connecting with your peers in the
field. So far in 2018 you have joined us for successful networking socials
in Baltimore, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and Houston. Keep an eye out for
upcoming networking events this fall!

We are also full speed ahead with planning our next conference in
Philadelphia, November 7-9, 2019. (
http://www.arcsinfo.org/programs/2019-conference) We will be seeking your
conference session proposals in the fall.

Again, thank you for your continued support. This last fiscal year ARCS
grew to over 1,500 members in 34 countries. This is the largest ARCS
membership to date. As we continue to grow, our community of registrars and
collections specialists will strengthen.

I hope to hear from all of you in 2018. Thank you again,

Danielle Hall Bennett
ARCS President

**Reminder – Webinar on Successful Implementation of Vibration Control
During Museum Construction Projects**
Registration is open for this free one-hour webinar on July 31, 2018.
Leading experts will explain the effects of vibrations on humans,
buildings, and artwork. Then, a scientific methodology for vibration
control that has been successfully implemented during several recent museum
construction projects will be outlined. Feedback on how the methodology
worked will be provided by a conservator and collections specialist who
oversaw the process. Practical examples, photographs, and data will be
provided. There will be plenty of time for your questions during the
presentation. Professional development hours are also available for your
