Hi Carey,
I'd look into getting the Oculus Go headsets, <https://www.oculus.com/go/>
since you're planing on showing  a VR Video which does not need as much
power as a full interactive VR experience. They are all-in-one so you don't
need to worry about the phones staying in the Cardboard, meaning they're
much more friendly for the museum floor. They run $199 so they cost about
the same as a refurbished phone will probably run you.
