Contact: [email protected] Now Accepting Applications for the 30th Annual MUSE Awards Program Deadline for application submission is Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EST The Media & Technology Professional Network’s annual MUSE awards recognize outstanding achievement in Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums (GLAM) media. MUSE Awards are presented to institutions that enhance the GLAM experience and engage audiences with useful and innovative digital programs and services. The MUSE awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education, accessibility, and inclusiveness. “Moving with the pace of technological change, this year we're celebrating the 30th anniversary of the MUSE Awards by redefining the creative ways in which the GLAM sector is engaging media, digital and technology through our award categories,” said Angie Judge, chair of the Media & Technology Professional Network Leadership Committee. “We're looking forward to seeing what innovations have been introduced in museums globally and to celebrating their success with them at the annual MUSE Awards ceremony in May.” Since its inception 30 years ago, the MUSE Awards has been the premier showcase for leading edge use of technology in service to the mission of GLAMs. The program has built an international audience with an increasing number of yearly awards going to impressive candidates from the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Recent years have seen as many as 325 entries received from a broad array of galleries, libraries, archives, and museums. This year, the program’s jury process has been modernized to take into consideration efforts around accessibility and inclusivity as entries are reviewed and scored. Winning projects for each category are chosen by an international group of GLAM technology professionals. The awards presented at the 2019 AAM Annual Meeting & Museum Expo in New Orleans. Projects must be produced by or for a GLAM, and may include but are not limited to websites, podcasts, social media campaigns, multimedia installations, games, interactive kiosks, audio tours, and mobile apps. All Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners receive a beautiful award plaque, and Honorable Mention winners receive a certificate. All winners are listed in perpetuity on the Awards list of past winners.
