Hi Jewel, I was in the same boat -- our current website was built over a decade ago and we needed a complete overhaul. We are (hopefully) near completion of a redesign and relaunch project. To draft the RFP I did a lot of googling of things like museum+website+design+proposals and found some examples that way. Then I reached out to someone I knew who had run a web design firm and had him review what I put together. He also helped me review the final couple proposals we were considering. Having that outside set of eyes proved to be very valuable. Also, I did a lot of searching for websites I liked and asked who designed them. That actually brought me to the firm we finally selected. I am happy to share the RFP we created with you, and please feel free to contact me with questions. I will send you a direct message with our example. Good luck with your search!

Hi Jewel! Super exciting for you! I'm also working on an RFP for a website rebuild (for our building relaunch in Spring 2022). Would love to swap notes as you develop yours & am happy to be a sounding board. In the meantime, here are a couple random links from MuseWeb: - https://www.museweb.net/?s=rfp (has some "real world" examples) - https://mw17.mwconf.org/paper/successful-projects-start-with-better-rfps/ David Nuñez ┃ Director of Technology & Digital Strategy ┃ MIT Museum <http://mitmuseum.mit.edu/> ┃ 617.452.2111 On Tue, Mar 03, 2020 at 6:01 PM, Jewel Clark <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello All! > > Our museum is getting ready for a full rebuild of our current website > (long overdue) and I've been asked to start putting together an RFP, > something I've not done before so I would very much appreciate any > advice or examples you might have to share.
