Hello!

I wanted to send a quick reminder to the MCN community that Wiki Education
has a registration deadline approaching for a 3-week intensive virtual
course <https://wikiedu.org/wikidata/>* around Wikidata (course dates: *August
17th–September 3rd*).

We still have some open seats for anyone interested in collaborating with
other librarians and data professionals (some from this group!). If you
follow through the registration form, you'll see we may be able to offer
financial aid / discounts for those whose institutions cannot cover the
full cost. You also receive a discount if you join with a colleague, which
gives you someone to work alongside both during and beyond the course.

If you're wondering how Wikidata may help you in your work, here's a great
recent blog** from a former participant at the Smithsonian about how she's
using Wikidata to diffuse knowledge more broadly.

I hope you'll join us and consider sharing with your networks. Course
details are available at data.wikiedu.org.

Best,
Jami

*** Here's an interesting Wikidata item
<https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q81068910> about the COVID-19 pandemic that
shows how Wikidata serves to document global data all in one place.
