***#ARCSchat - November 10 at 1:00 p.m. ET***
"Fire, water, and government know nothing of mercy." – Proverb

#ARCSchat returns on November 10, at 1:00 p.m. ET, the Tuesday AFTER U.S.
Elections, to set aflame our current assumptions about fire and to
illuminate all that we misunderstand about fire preparation. The panel
fanning the flames includes Michael Kilby, Associate Director for Fire
Protection at the Smithsonian, Betsy Severance, Head Registrar at the
Getty, and Jared Yax, Firefighter and Collections Curator and Off-Site
Facilities Manager at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, Grand Haven,
Michigan. Additionally, we will feature guest host Rebecca Kennedy, an
independent registrar in Washington, D.C., chair of the ARCS Emergency
Programming Subcommittee, and collections emergency specialist.

***Introducing the ARCS Virtual Connections Task Force***
Did you know that ARCS has a robust group of volunteers working on various
committees and task forces to further the organization’s initiatives? One
of the task forces, Virtual Connections, was created at the end of 2019.
This group of five members was tasked with working on a website update
project and finding ways to best communicate with and deliver content to
our membership. As we all know, the importance of connecting virtually
became even more essential during the COVID-19 pandemic. Follow @arcs4all
on Instagram to learn more about the group throughout this week’s ARCS
Virtual Connections Task Force Instagram takeover. They will be introducing
themselves and highlighting some of the projects and virtual experiences
they’ve had since the task force was organized.
