The limit you set, afaik is the #days they will remain in the index
before being deleted. In a day or two, if you leave messages in the
groups, you notice them begin to disapear 8)

I don't think you can set how many you download each day. If 500
messages are posted that day, that is how many you will get.
The requestor to D/L last 100 messages is for when you first subscribe
to a group. Otherwise you could end up d/l'ing several weeks of mail.
. This happened to me a few weeks back when I subb'ed to csa.misc
during a fit of boredom. took a while. oh yes.
