I read MD as "em-dee" and would therefore write (or say) "_an_ MD", and "_a_
MiniDisc." Same as with CD, I read that as "cee-dee" -- I doubt very much
that *anyone* sees "CD" and thinks "compact disc." It seems to me that the
problem here is, the term MD has not become a common part of the English
language the way CD has.
