That would be as suitable as required for something that's purely there for
analytical purposes. If you wanted something of a more hi-fi nature (as in
when recording live gigs, you want them to sound like a
professionally/commercially released CD!), then you would be looking at
something a little better, particularly in a binaural type of set up but
pointing the mics towards the stage/sound source rather than sideways as are
your ears (as they were intended to be used). You can point them sideways
like your ears are for an interesting effect, but I prefer to get the whole
sound and nothing but (ie. Little crowd noise, just enough for that live
"ambience").

That's my opinion anyway.

Adios,
LarZ

Subject: MD: Microphone for medium quality live music recording?

So, in my search for a microphone I came across one
that looks like it might suit my needs at MiniDisco.com -- the Sound
Professionals Single Point Stereo T-Microphone:

Can anyone on the list advise me on this potential purpose? Or perhaps steer
me to something more suitable?
