http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/TWB19990409S0004 Interesting article on SACD... unfortunately, its not entirely accurate, or should I say...up to date. The SCD-1 Sony showed at Hifi 99 in CHicago in May '99 did in fact, have a dual discrete optical block for playing SACDs and standard Red book Compact Discs. It also incorporates a 24-bit Variable Coefficient Digital Filter just like the MDS-JA555ES making it a very sweet CD player. The optical out on the back is SPDIF and cannot handle bandwidth of 1-bit at 2.8224 MHz but then again, neither will the DVD-Audio units...Something along the lines of IEEE1394 sounds likely for future units. I've head the SACD...it is utterly incredible. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
