Jim, you tell us if it is any good since you bought one. The nearest best
buy to me is about an hour and 15 minutes. But at that price, if they are
any good, it might pay for me to take a drive there.
Modems can't be off topic. If it were not for modems there wouldn't be an
MD list in the first place. Please let us know what speed you get.
My Compaq notebook computer came with a 56K Flex modem. The best that I
could do was 28,000! Then Compaq put a bios download on their website so
that the modem would be a V.9 and now I get 48,000. Sometimes even 49,333.
