I was led to believe 80min discs have a tighter track pitch thus allowing more
data to be written and hence the higher capacity. Cloning the TOC of an 80
to a 74 will at best give a write-error at some point, or corrupt the disc. The
discs are not compatible and the TOCs cannot be cloned (imagine taking
out a 6GB drive and replacing it with a 4GB and not doing a FDISK etc).
