I've got the older MDX-C8900 myself, and I can safely say that in terms of
reliability, it would be exactly the same as the 7900 series. I've had no
problems whatsoever with it (knocks on wood) and the only reason why I
didn't go for the 7900 model was because I wanted a flip-down panel, and the
d-bass knob is fugly 3#-)

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of choice here in the UK for car
MD/radio combinations yet.
