I was chatting with a guy on ICQ then IRC who lives near Inverness
in northern scotland on a totally non-minidisc topic, but I brought it
up anyway. We chatted quite a bit about it.

He's still at school in his late teens and when I asked "do you know
what minidisc is" his reply was "of course".

When I asked "do you use it" he replied it was out of his price range.
Thing is he knows a lot about minidisc (his replies confirmed this)
but he hasn't got any MD stuff as it's still beyond his budget. He does
have CD though and access to a PC. Price is preventing him from
joining us.

Remember this is a guy who lives several miles out of Inverness and
he has seen minidisc stuff in Inverness (a city of under 100K I think)
which is in the most isolated part of Britain. The reason he hasn't
bought in is price. MD porties must become cheaper to attract the
masses or it will always be a small minority of us who got it, and it
will die out in a few years :-(

If only MD porties came down to the price of CD porties (and the pre-
rec discs priced liked CD) there would I reckon be a massive flood
of new MD users. And a cheapish MD reccie portie would be a big
boost to those with a largeish CD collection.
