OK, I can't read Japanese, but I think I can make out the following specs on
the R91 based on the tables in the web page link below:

Dimensions: 78.9mm x 18.0mm x 72.0mm
( the R55 is 84.0mm x 18.9mm x 78.9mm)

Weight: 110g, 156g (AAs + NH-14 battery)
(the R55 is 171g)

Battery life:
 NH-14 battery: 12 hours
 AA batteries: 16.5 hours
 Combined: 29 hours

Extra "feature": "Low-profile Fine Pitch Land Grid Array" -- whatever that
is.

Price: US$410.00 /JP$46,000 (obviously only available in Japan for a while,
unfortunately)

Assuming my assumptions on the stats are correct, this sure seems like one
nice leap for Sony. It's decidely smaller than the R55 (not quite sure how
that's possible, but that's a matter to take up with a Physicist), addresses
the battery life well (though, still the NiMH?), and they threw in a "land
grid array" just for playing.

What more could we want?

Now I have to figure out whether I want to return my recently-purchased R55
and hold my hat for this guy to cross the pond. Advice from the masses on
this one would be most appreciated.

Jon
