I browsed thru the archives of the list, and found a person with the
same problem that Im experiencing; this is a better explanation of it,
in my case its a R50
The little springy bit that pushes the disc outwards when you eject (ie,
raise the top portion of housing) on my R50 mysteriously became jammed.
It's a little spring loaded bit in the back right of the housing. It
seems that the release mechanism for it has been warped out as I can
reach
back with a tweezer and unlatch it. But when I put a disc in, the
spring
part becomes jammed again. I can still get discs out by shaking it, but
it's on the annoying side to have to do so.
This is one of those things that doesn't feel like it would be worth my
while to send away to be serviced yet I don't want to mess with it too
much and possibly screw up my player more.
Has anyone dismantled a R50 enough to have some idea what the latching
mechanism of the spring is? From what I can see, there's a little
wedge that presumably is intended to push the spring outwards so that
when the upper housing is closed, the spring unlatches.
More generically, what's the fewest number of screws i need to mess with
to open up the upper housing?
I'll say this much, after trying to figure out which the screw holds
what
down, the R50 really looks really compactly designed.
please I need help
Larz! you are the boss in here!!! what do you suggest?
