It comes down to one pretty simple idea really - treat people on the
internet as you would in real life. I'll bet you didn't talk to the people
at the Service Centre in the same way as you phrased your post. Ask
sensibly, get a sensible answer. It's as simple as that.

For those not in the UK (or UK people who never saw the 11o'clock Show), Ali
G is well worth listening to (episodes are in MP3 format)
http://www.mentski.co.uk/alig/index.htm
Heat magazine said it better than I could:
"A regular on Channel 4's The 11 O'Clock show, Ali is a brilliant parody of
young British middle-class hipsters, affecting the walk, talk and dress
sence of black Los Angeles while living with their parents in the Home
Counties; in Ali's case, Staines. Using references to hip-hop, guns and
drugs to drive his points home, Ali's interviews with a series of
establishment figures - everyone from the director of the Royal Nation Opera
to the leading protagonists in the debate over Northern Islands future -
have created one of the fastest growing comedy cults since Alan Partridge
made his radio debut."
Comedy has its place - asking for help on a public (and fairly large) list
isn't one of them. (Ali G does it better than you, by the way :) )
