I guess some people just don't appreciate "computer ebonics" heheh.
My friends and I used to type goofy stuff like that in chat rooms just
to amuse ourselves.
I'm surprised so many people got so riled up by it. I guess that was a
good way to get attention, but not a good way to get answers.

Why not?
Last I heard, anything about MD is on topic. A "feature" or
"misfeature" of MD is of course, also on topic. As long as people have
an opinion about it, the discussion will keep popping up. AND last time
I checked, opinions were welcome in this mailing list so long as they
pertain to MD.
Some people hate ES, and want to voice their opinion on why MD portables
shouldn't have it. If enough people express this opinion, Sony might
actually do something about it. I believe there are people who work at
Sony reading this list. Sony has implemented features into many of
their MD hardware that people have wanted, so if losing ES is something
people want, it might just happen.
