I think that is the one he was asking about.  I think you are referring
to problems with the Sony 510 not the 530.

Pitch control, if done correctly varies the relative frequencies of the
sound. So, if the recording plays an A note at a frequency of 440 Hz,
pitch control can let you play that back at 444 Hz,  430 Hz or what
ever  as long as it is in the range of the  control.  
If pitch control is done incorrectly, it will vary the speed like on an
old fashioned LP  record.  On those when you change the speed, since it
is an analog device, it also changes the pitch.
