Simon, The 'official' word from Sony (thru my local dealer) is that the 530 won't be released in Australia as the 500 series line will be discontinued here. The reason for it is that they want a cheaper entry point for MD so the 330 is now the standard entry point machine and the next step up will be the 930 (not available yet). Not a lot of logic I know, as it leaves home users that don't need a 900 series stuck with a less capable unit than say the 520, but at least they are getting behind MD a bit more.
