I wouldn't say that the new MD2 is a stillborn....

It is just yet to be released and set out as the new replacement
for MD in it's current format.  The potential for a new MD2 format
in the audio world is waiting, but it's not ready yet.

- From the press releases, MD2 has only been set out so far as a format
for a prototype (read: not real yet) video camera...

I'd give it 5 years to come about...
(hey... look how long it took MD to catch on as a mainstream
medium.  Yes, I think we're really there now :-)
