Well, I wasn't there when he bought it, but Tony Antoniu's comment about the
salesman being a "pushy prick" is probably closest to the mark. Personally,
I've always found the staff at the Sony Centre in Watford to be rude and
pushy and won't go in unless I really have to. It wouldn't be surprising if
they had the same standard of customer service at the Solihull branch where
my friend bought his adaptor. He is happy as Larry with the adaptor by the
way, just a bit miffed at having to shell out for something he didn't want
or need.
