Hey everybody,

I was playing around with my 831 yesterday, and while trying to edit one of my
older discs (recorded on an R50 I believe), the display gave me a TOC FORMa
message when I pushed EDIT, and it would not allow me to edit the disc. The
disc will play fine, titles will display fine, etc. I took the disc out,
reloaded it and tried editing again, same TOC FORMa message. The disc will edit
fine in my Sony machines (R55, PC1), so I'm wondering if there's some sort of
incompatibility issue?

What I was hoping was if somebody here had a US model 821 (or maybe even 722)
and could look this message up in the manual, to see what explanation (if any)
the manual gives. The 831's manual is in Japanese, and the English section has
no error explanations.

This problem only happens with this one disc, and I remember when I used this
disc on an Aiwa F70, the titles would not display correctly (the F70's display
would spit out gibberish, random symbols like "%^(*&$^"), although the disc
would play correctly. I'm wondering if there's a problem with the way the
titles are stored in the TOC, or if there's a problem with the TOC itself? No
other disc I've tried has this problem, and other discs will edit fine in the
831. Anyway, if somebody could help shed some light I would really appreciate
it.
