Well, I would prefer to not record the surface noise so I didn't have to
listen to it.  It was a product or artifact of the LP media and really
shouldn't be there anyway.  Set your recorder so you don't pick up as
much of the surface noise and you will get two benefits.   1.  a better
sounding recording, 2.  automatic track marks.
