roland is coming out with a superior product to the Opcode products that
supposedly will ship with macintosh drivers.
I am also in the waiting game for a cheap solution for brining audio into my
B&W machine.

There are a number of USB-to-digital-audio devices out there, but this is
where you find out that USB is still not a fully developed technology...
Many USB devices still require special drivers. The problem with finding
one for the iMac, or for Linux, or for any non-Windows OS is that the
hardware will work fine, but the company may not have written software
drivers for the OS. You may need to contact the company to see if they
have/will have drivers available.
A couple USB digital audio solutions; not sure about Mac drivers, but
Opcode has a lot of Mac products:
