I'm trying to get a fix on either of the following two devices (there
seems to be much controversy as to when they'll both be out (manufactures
supposedly claim that both units release this month, yet the resellers claim
it'll be january before the units arrive in the US). If anyone knows where I
can buy either or anything more about the release dates, I'd really
appreciate someone sending me a direct email.
The first device is the Egosys U24. It's a USB interface to bring
coaxial or toslink digital signal directly into the PC (or Mac) and it's
pretty astounding if you look at the features it sports @ www.egosys.net.
The thing even claims to do on the fly sampling rate conversion! The
manufacturer claims it's release will be this month, but if you ask a
distributor, they'll tell you january. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure the
resellers are being straight as to it's ultimate availability in the US and
merely letting me know when _they'll_ have it.
The other device is basically the same thing (so I am told) by Roland
and it's called the UA30... I haven't heard anyone mention sampling rate
conversion yet though. And the real crappy thing is that I can't find a byte
of data on it anywhere on the web.
If anyone can hook me up with some info and most preferably a place to
purchase it now in North America, I would be very grateful.
