Would this work with a component-sized Sony MD deck?
(say for example the MDS-JE320 ;) )
And if so, do i just point the LED into the optical in on the deck?
(sorry if this is an extra dumb question)

There are some titling project which allow you to title
MD from computer (there are also database application
which is able to print MD labels).
Windows version of MD titler (HW and SW) cost
about $50 USD.
DOS version is free.
