This doesn't sound like a particularly good situation, electrically.
It looks like the portable runs off roughly 2.4-3V amd you are dropping in
around 4.5V. I'd suggest you get the specs from the official power adapter
for your unit (perhaps someone on the list can supply them), and then
purchase a proper adapter from a local electronics shop...depending on how
your unit is engineered that much additional power could damage the unit.
it might not, but i wouldn't want to take the chance ;)
Cheers,
mark ;)

Subject: MD: Discman-adaptor for MD-MT15 - ???
Hi all!
I recently bought a MD-MT15, and i have no adaptor for it. But i
have a adaptor for a Sony Discman.
Input: 220/230 V
50/60 Hz
6 Watt
Output: 4,5 V
500 mA
My portie has:
DC 2.4V(Nickel-metal battery) x1
DC 3V LR6(Size AA) x2
When i plug it in, it works for about 30 seconds, and then it comes
with a "POWER?" message, and stops working. When i put batteries
in it, and i plug the adaptor in, then it stops immediatly. Would
this hurd my portie?
Thanx, Joost. (Don't mind the HOTMAIL-AD below ;-) )
