I've got a T mic from Sound Professionals (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/) that I
use with my Sharp 701. Quality is very good
IMHO, and it's certainly cheaper than the Sony (check the website for current price).
There are a choice of screens for the mic.
Shipping to Europe was no big problem, although the package got held up a little while
in customs.

I prefer to use a cable to mechanically isolate the mic from the MD recorder itself,
but if you're not worried about picking up very
slight background noise from the MD motor, then you can plug it straight into the
701/702. The only problem with this, for
journalistic purposes, is that you might (possibly) end up moving the MD recorder
around whilst interviewing, and this could have
mechanical consequences for the recorded material (ie, the laser in record mode might
zap another part of the disk if you wave the
unit around too enthusiastically), so a cable might after all be a useful accessory.
Or maybe I worry too much :-).

I also have a filter box that I bought from the Sound Professionals along with the
mic, but I've never used it.

Hope this helps,

Mark
