I dislike the R55 because of the small buttons and no
jog dial. Also, I have had problems with the unit
innacurately reading the battery. I put in a fully
charged battery, and it flashes "battery low" and
shuts off. Put it back in, and it then decides the
battery is full. Then i have to eject the battery
when I am done listening because the unit keeps the
display on even after pushing stop. So the battery
just wears down cause the display stays on. I have
two NiMH 14 batteries. I can't imagine only having
one to constantly recharge.
I miss my old R50. More battery power. And I never
had problems with it, even though I dropped it several
times. The R50 is one tough sonofabitch compared to
the delicate R55.
I would recommend the R50 if you can get it.
