My Sony MZR-37 intermittently displays the low-life indicator after normal
operation, ie stop-start, when clearly there is ample power left in the battery,
even with a brand new battery. The unit operates properly only once the same
batteries have been removed and replaced, which is obviously unacceptably
laborious. The unit is now being 'repaired' through the original retailer, with
the attendent risk that they won't be able to reproduce the fault. Is this a
known fault? Is there a better fix? What are my rights as a consumer? The unit
was returned 3months after purchase, since it took that long to establish the
fault.
