The problem of a 2 second gap is that your CD software is set to insert a 2
second gap. If you change that option (you didn't say which software you
were using) then you can get a 0 second gap and the tracks will run together
seamlessly.
Problems with the length of a track would cause a gap of a few milliseconds
at most, not 2 or 3 seconds.
