I'm about to start recording live concerts, mostly outdoor shows at music
festivals. Since I don't want to spend a fortune I will probably start
with a Sony MZ-R37 Portable MD Recorder. Are online auctions the way to go
then?

I need some advice before buying the microphone. Core Sound's "Low cost
binaural microphones" and "Low cost stealth cardioid microphones" seem to
be good choices, but I can't decide which ones are best for me.

I usually stand right in front of the stage (but not in the front row). Is
it best to record with Cardioids from that position, or should I stand
close to one of the two loudspeaker towers with Binaurals instead?

Are there other microphone models I should consider? I will try to spend
at most $100 (in the US) on the microphone.

Will the Sony MZ-R37 + one of the two Core Sound microphones above be a
good system to start with?
